Do you have tips for successful nail stamping?Updated 9 months ago
To ensure the best experience with nail stamping, follow these helpful tips:
- Check Environmental Factors: Avoid ceiling fans, A/C, or heaters that create a draft near your workstation as they can dry the polish too quickly.
- Prep Your Tools: Clean your stamper with dish soap and warm water before use and allow it to air dry. Use tape or a lint roller for cleaning between stamps, avoiding acetone which can damage the stamper.
- Proper Polish Removal: Always clean your stamping plate with acetone after each attempt to ensure no residue is left behind.
- Shake Polishes: Give your stamping polishes a good shake before use, especially metallic finishes, to distribute pigments evenly.
- Apply Enough Polish: Cover half of the stamp with polish and scrape the excess off once or twice gently at a 45-degree angle. Over scraping can result in poor pickup.
- Use the Right Technique: Use a light rolling action when picking up the design, barely touching the plate. Avoid pressing too hard or for too long, which can prevent the design from lifting.
